How Moletta met the client's needs
Moletta Mobili has transformed the client's sketches and drawings into an impeccable piece of cabinetry. Harnessing the mastery of Venetian artisans, every single element was custom-built to fit with millimeter precision into the architecture of the residence in the Netherlands. The bold combination of the warmth of burl wood, the strength of wengé, and the splendor of gold finishes required bespoke inlay work that had never been executed before. The result is a coordinated and exclusive home that embodies the excellence of Italian custom-made craftsmanship around the world.
From Client Drawing to Cabinetry Excellence
Unlike catalog collections, this project was developed entirely from the technical drawings and stylistic ideas provided by the client. Moletta Mobili's master cabinetmakers engineered each module to ensure structural stability and aesthetic perfection, adapting the inlay patterns and the arrangement of the walnut burl segments to enhance the volumes of the sideboard, the display cabinet, and the study. Every element of the project was customized with high-level specifications:
- Woods and Finishes: Structures in walnut feather and burl wood embellished with custom geometric inlays, featuring threadings and framing bands in precious dark wengé wood.
- Decorative Details: Perimeter cornices with moldings finished by hand-applied gold leaf, cast and chased bronze escutcheons and handles, and gold appliques on the storage panels.
- Study Area: Full-height boiserie with carved capitals, integrated flush-to-wall doors, and a majestic desk with an open-book dark veined marble shaped top, complete with a dark leather ergonomic chair.
- Dining Area: Rectangular table with veneered top, matching art-fabric chairs, sideboard with hinged compartments, and a service trolley with wooden wheels and polished brass parts.
